A Beacon of Light: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

Today is the birth of one of the three babies celebrated by the universal Church.

We know the holy importance of the birth of Jesus and the birth of Mary, but today we celebrate the birth of John the Baptist. This feast day is a celebration of the light and witness John brought to the world and the work he did on behalf of God.

The priesthood is about following Christ and shaping a life like his. Some of my fellow priests are filled with joy at their mission and lift the spirits of everyone they meet with their enthusiasm. To celebrate John as the great example of discipleship, it is recommended for us to gather around a fire to burn old blessed palms, candles, and to scatter the darkness, making way for the Light of the World!

How does your family bring light to the world?
