The Lord says: "If it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you!" Surrounded by confusion, and people obsessed with power, the Lord reminds us of His divine power. So He proclaims The Kingdom of God has come upon you! We know this. We know how this divine power has been at work in the Church for centuries. We have known the Lord’s power in our own lives.
We know and believe! The Kingdom of God is among US now, calling us to break out of our fears, to see everything in the light of Christ, to live in hope.
Calling us to love abundantly, and to be joyful!
Yet, with all the confusion, division, and hardship we see, how do we not vacillate?
In a high pressure and revved up world how do we keep our hearts in the peace of Christ? How do we fight to keep ourselves connected with the life in the Spirit, linked to the Kingdom of God?
For centuries, Catholics have been calling the Rosary "a chain that links heaven and earth."
A chain that links heaven and earth - a chain that links us to the Kingdom of God. A way, a help - to stay connected. A place where we can go and remain in the peace of the Lord!
There’s something about just holding the Rosary that helps calm us when we feel worried and fearful… helping us to know that Our Lady is with us, taking care of us.
And then we can go deeper and day by day return to the Lord, to grow in the life of the Spirit as Mother Mary helps us to meditate and to come close to Jesus.
During October, Rosary month, let’s pay more attention to how we pray the Rosary so our time of prayer can be for us what the Lord intends: encountering Him, being with Him - so that our hearts are touched by His love and our lives are transformed.
For example, when you start to pray, first breath deeply, relax, let go of distractions, gently begin focus on the Lord, meditating the particular mysteries and letting the Word of the Lord speak to your life.
It is a prayer of peace, to be prayed peacefully, returning to inner peace.
It is the Gospel made prayer, a great help to lead you to Christ Who is the Kingdom of Heaven among us.
Amen.
