A Glidepath to Holiness: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity  |  Healing the family

A reflection on your Glidepath this Lent…

A New York priest who worked as a prison chaplain noticed the same prisoners ending up back in jail only a short time after they were released. The priest had an idea from his days in World War II. He had worked on an aircraft carrier that carefully calculated the takeoff and return of the planes. When landing back on the carrier, the pilots had to follow a specially crafted landing pattern called a Glidepath. The inmates kept returning to prison because they did not have a Glidepath to follow that would allow them to return to a healthy and fulfilled life as a member of society. Using this concept, a program was setup to help inmates return to the outside world successfully.

God gives each of us a Glidepath, as he gave one to Jonah for converting a huge city and Jesus for preaching the Word of God. What Glidepath has the Lord laid out for your family? How are you using Lent to follow God’s plans?

Lord, please guide us to where we need to be to do your work, as you did for your Son, Jesus. Amen.
