If we are hiding, the Lord looks for us, to find us and hold us close.
A dad took his kids to the park to play hide-and-seek. His two sons hid under a hedge, very obviously seen, but his daughter hid further away. The father saw them all, but pretended to search, and then jumped out and yelled “I see you!” The sons ran off, but the daughter wanted hugs.
Although we want to be sought, found, and held tight by the perfect father, often we are caught up in the game of life and run away from the warmth of God’s love. Jesus asks today “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me?” He wants us to realize true intimacy is found in being known by God and each other.
Do we recognize the Lord’s desire to be united with us?
