A Longer Journey: Family Reflection Video

A Longer Journey: Family Reflection Video

Return to the Church  |  Seasonal Reflections

This immortal short story of a seven-mile journey enlightens us for the long journey of our life.

It’s amazing all we can deem from this short story!

  1. Sorry and disappointment should not change our direction.
  2. Jesus helps us make sense of things.
  3. Jesus respects human freedom.
  4. Jesus is recognized in the breaking of the bread.
  5. Our joy drives us to share the Good News.
  6. Others have also encountered Jesus.
  7. Jesus gives the penitent sinner back his/her dignity.

With your family, read the story of The Appearance on the Road to Emmaus. Can you find each point in the story where the above insights come to light? Do any of these messages especially resonate with you today? Which one and why?

I pray that as you and each member of your family make the long journey of your life, you will always recognize Jesus walking right there beside you.
