Who you are as a person is what you have in your heart, not in your head.
Jesus is telling us to look beyond the externals and look rather to the our inner core. Who a person is comes from deep within, what we carry inside our heart. And if our hearts are clouded with hate, the health of our entire being could be damaged.
Just like the Queen of Sheba in today’s reading, encourage your family to look further than what they see. Rather, listen to the heart’s fruits of love, goodness, faithfulness and honesty. The mind makes lots of noise, but the heart is silent. How can you lead by your heart?
Create for us pure hearts, O God, so that we may experience the real beauty of our homes.
