Seasonal Reflections

Why do we lose hope so soon and give up so quickly?

Similar to the Israelites from the reading of Jeremiah, I believe that we, too, are in exile today. Doors to churches are closing and are torn down only to be made into parking lots and malls – virtually anything other than what we need them to be. These churches are not simply buildings and structures, they are dwellings for God – a place where God is and where we can feel His everlasting presence.

In exile, God’s people are not where they should be. Are we where God has placed us?

My dear sisters and brothers, during this last part of Lent let us uproot our sins, tear down the injustices of the world so that we may overthrow evil and follow God into the promise land that is eternal life in Heaven.
