And It Was Night: Family Reflection Video

And It Was Night: Family Reflection Video

Healing the family  |  Return to the Church  |  Seasonal Reflections

Heather found herself in the last place she thought she'd end up: The Catholic Church.

As I read Heather King’s memoir, Redeemed, I was reminded of Peter, not Judas. Peter, after betraying Jesus three times, still believed in God’s merciful forgiveness. Judas could not believe Jesus would still love him and forgive his betrayal.

At this time in our Lenten journey, we might be learning how we fail to live up to our vocation as children of God by sinning. But we’re also reminded there is hope for us sinners who miss the mark and need God’s mercy and forgiveness.

Around the family dinner table, share what each of you have learned so far as a result of your own personal experiences during this holy season of Lent.

Let’s pray together that every home become a domestic Church where God’s mercy and forgiveness are always ready and eager to welcome home a prodigal daughter, son, mother or father. It doesn’t have to remain night.
