Are We Players or Spectators? Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Strengthening family unity

My first Red Sox game taught me something about watching versus living.

I remember my first Red Sox game as a day with so much energy. I didn’t know much about the team or the game, but I cheered with the crowd anyway. The team lost. I thought about how our enthusiasm and knowledge of the game wasn’t enough to make a victory. If we are not players in the field, we remain spectators.

Jesus speaks of building houses today; strong foundations on which to lay our faith. We must be active in putting our foundations together because someone else cannot play this part for us. It is up to us to build our lives upon our own strong faith.

Have I built my house on strong ground? Or am I a spectator?

Friends, let us join in prayer for a solid, strengthened rock on which to build our faith.
