Be All God Wants You To Be! Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Celebrating family life

Father Peyton often said that, even though he came from a large poor family, he was rich. His home gave him everything. Because Jesus and Mary were at the center, faith was his family’s foundation. Family prayer, specifically daily prayer of the Rosary, gave him all he needed to become all the Lord made him to be.

Many parents work hard to make sure their children go to the right school in order to be rich; to make sure they keep up with their neighbors with the latest toy or gadget, perhaps even overcompensating because they know they are not giving enough of what the child really needs: real love, time, attention, affection – faith and God!

Look at the Landowner of the parable Jesus offers us today. He stands for God Himself. We usually comment on God’s generosity with us to motivate us to be more generous. Jesus wants us to see so much more. The Landowner goes out looking for each one! He is paying them with salvation … but not some minimum-wage salvation that our materialistic minds want to settle for … He wants them to have the full wage … to be all He made them to be! To be fully alive and holy!

We can raise our children simply to be successful in the false standards of the world or to be truly all God made them to be! Think about it, especially during this time of the pandemic.

When Father Peyton took his message, “the family that prays together stays together,” all around the globe, this is what he meant!

Let’s give our children what they really need to be all that God wants them to be! The Rosary can help God give you and your family the full wage!
