Be Not Afraid...to Share, to Give: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

“It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness…” –Saint John Paul II

Saint Pope John Paul II could draw in so many people with his with his wisdom. When I saw him speak, his words were a source of inspiration in following Jesus to places I would never have imagined. I clearly remember him saying “Be not afraid.”

We often convince ourselves that we have everything under control; only to discover we don’t, and that is when we get fearful and frustrated. When we hear “be not afraid,” it can mean any number of things. The man in today’s gospel need be not afraid to share. Our focus on the material things can often distract us from Jesus –the thing we need most. We need be not afraid of giving it all up to follow him.

What do we do when we are blessed with successes? Do we remain rich in what matters to God?

We pray in our hearts for Jesus’s will to take the place of material wants.
