Behold, I Stand at the Door and Knock: Family Reflection Video

Love thy Neighbor

Would you open the door or climb a tree to see Jesus?

A new pastor went around visiting his parishioners’ homes, until he came to one where he could tell someone was home, but they did not open the door. The pastor took out a card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on it and left it in the door. He received the same card back a few days later with "Genesis 3:10" written on it. Looking up the passage, he laughed out loud.

Revelation 3:20--- “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.”

Genesis 3:10--- “I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked.”

Our minds can resemble the door Jesus knock at in William H. Hunt’s painting The Light of the World, unopened and overgrown. Jesus brings his light to us, if we only will open ourselves to him, we may be made anew.

Do we often open our doors? Do we answer when Jesus knocks?

Pray, my sisters and brothers, that we may be listening for Jesus’s knock on our doors!
