In our culture today, we try to satisfy others and fit into the popular culture.
In doing so, we may overlook the sanctity of the family and its natural structure. As a result, our families are faced with the risks and threats of adultery or divorce.
As Christians, the essentials for us come from the teachings of the scripture and the Church. Jesus instructs us to “love one another as I have loved you.” Here he gives us a succinct invitation. There is no comprise.
We become imitators of Christ when we grow in our sacrificial love. We need to ask ourselves, “What is best for the folks around me?”
Let us pray,
as individuals and families,
that we might fix our eyes on Jesus,
make Jesus the center of our family,
get to know him continually through reading the Word,
and continuously grow in love of God and neighbor.
Amen.
