Don't Forget: Family Reflection Video

Seasonal Reflections

Forgetfulness is something that touches us all at different points in time, but what happens when we forget?

Today’s reading (The Golden Calf) illustrates to us just how severe things can become if we forget. Things can dramatically change in an instant because we forget – just as Moses’s followers simply forgot how gracious and merciful God was to them before deciding to throw away all God did for them by worshipping a false god, the golden calf.

What causes us to forget things? How can we remind ourselves to always be appreciative and aware of God’s grace and mercy? Is there anyone you know who is need of God’s grace and mercy?

Now that we are in the second half of Lent, we have to be aware of what we – as believers – are called to do at this time. The second half of Lent calls for us to fully commit to God. We must unleash the power and the promise of seeking out the Lord in order to have a true, fulfilling Lenten experience. We must not forget this.

Lord, may you guide us all on our Lenten journeys so that we may never forget your grace and your mercy.

Amen.
