Family Reflection Video: All Roads Lead to Rome

Family Reflection Video: All Roads Lead to Rome

saints  |  feast-day  |  strength and hope  |  disciple

Today we celebrate Saints Peter and Paul. Peter, “the Rock” on which the Church was built and Paul, the voice of the church.

At that time, it seemed all roads led to Rome and from Rome, Peter and Paul could travel those same roads to go out and boldly transform the world.

In our families, we too can pray to God and feel the chains fall from our wrists. Discuss what “chains falling from our wrists” means. Can you think of some examples? We must remain confident in the promise that as long as we go to God for help, the angel of the Lord will rescue us.

May Saints Peter and Paul continue to inspire Pope Francis, our bishops and all of us. I will pray for you and your family. Thank you for joining us today.

For additional reading: Paul’s reward for fidelity, 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 17-18 and Peter’s confession about Jesus, Matthew 16:13-19.
