Family Reflection Video: Bringing Friends to Jesus

joyful

“Pray as if everything depends on God, then work as if everything depends on you.” Have you and your family taken time to put your prayer into action?

Saint Therese of Lisieux described prayer as “a surge of the heart, a simple look toward heaven, and a cry of recognition of love.” We see each of these truths in today’s Gospel story, The Healing of the Paralytic.

When we pray we offer ourselves completely to Him. We bring the longing of our hearts not only for ourselves, but also for others. Take comfort in the power of prayer … and use it!

Dear friends, we have been taught since childhood to trust that God hears our prayers. We have been told to pray for anything we need, especially in times of sickness, hurt, anxiety and fear. Talk with your family tonight about who you need to bring to God in prayer.

Family life is busy and hectic. Keep in mind this quote from Saint Francis de Sales, “Every one of us needs half an hour of prayer each day – except when we are busy, then we need an hour.” Pray with your family. God bless each of you.
