Family Reflection Video: Father in the Family

parent  |  Lent

In the Gospel today, Jesus calls God, “Father” nine times in fourteen verses. Think He’s trying to tell us something?

When we call God, “our Father,” children tend to believe that God is going to treat us as our father’s do. That’s a profound way of thinking about it and a bit overwhelming if you’re a father! This positive role model in the family is beneficial for the overall development of the child.

Perhaps you can think of someone in your own life where the image of a father might have affected their perception of God. Discuss this with your family.

Please pray with me for all parents around the world, especially for fathers. Pray also for single parents who work tirelessly to raise their children in faith with love and guidance.
