Family Reflection Video: God’s Megaphone

lent

C.S. Lewis wrote, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world” (The Problem of Pain, 1940).

Rather than feeling unworthy of God, we need to recognize it is God who joins us in our sufferings. Once we acknowledge the pain and anguish of our sins, that’s the moment when our personal redemption can take place. When acknowledged, God takes our suffering upon Himself and heals it.

It is God’s desire to introduce us to the fullness of redemption filled with His grace and mercy. Have you ever thought about how God joins you and your family to Himself in your suffering? Can you think of any specific circumstances?

May the infinite mercy of God allow us to advance on the great spiritual adventure of Lent to the springtime of Easter. God bless you and your family.
