Family Reflection Video: We’re Just Like Them

Family Reflection Video: We’re Just Like Them

Lent  |  peace  |  trust

It’s easy to get wrapped up in gossip and slander, especially on social platforms. We can jump in and fuel the fire … or we can follow this advice.

God defends the innocent and rescues the guilty in their hour of need. We can all benefit from recognizing ourselves in the woman caught in adultery who is mercifully forgiven by Jesus. And we can all be Daniels in defending those who are unjustly defamed.

Keeping these two thoughts in mind, discuss with your family why it takes so much courage to stand up for someone being falsely accused? Humbly acknowledging that we all sin, do you compassionately offer mercy to others who have wronged you? Can you think of examples of each to share?

As the last full week of Lent is upon us, let’s pray together to Our Mother, who is full of mercy and love:

Hail Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with you;

Blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
