Family Reflection Video: Why Pray in Jesus’ Name?

Learn more about our faith

There are many important names we know throughout history, but only one has the greatest influence with God the Father … Jesus.

When we pray “through Christ our Lord,” we are praying in the stance, attitude, and spirit of Jesus, learning to want the sort of things that he wants for us. Let us not pray for selfish reasons, but for the good of others and our own eternal destiny.

God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we would like him to. His responses vary between, “Yes,” “Not now,” or “I have a better plan.” Talk with your family about how God’s different answers have affected your life.

Pray in the name of Jesus, my friends, and let him help shape your prayers. God bless you.
