Fasten Your Hands on the Plow: Family Reflection Video

Celebrating family life

What can falling on my face teach us about distraction?

:

Today’s gospel always makes me smile because I remember when I was little during plowing season, the time I wanted to help. My father told me to be careful, but when I took a hand off the plow to wave off his caution…you guessed it; I fell flat in the dirt.

Jesus calls us to a deeper commitment to keep moving forward in our faith journey, with our hands fastened tightly on the plow. Being distracted by material things or occupied with other obligations distracts us and ultimately causes us to fall to the dirt.

Is there anything that hold us back from saying yes to Jesus’s invitation?

Lord, we pray that we may be made worthy of your kingdom.
