Fatima Day: Family Reflection Video

Seasonal Reflections

102 years ago today, Our Blessed Mother appeared for the first time in the small village of Fatima to three little children…

This day is widely regarded as “Fatima Day” in celebration of the miracles that were to come given by Our Lady, personally. Another anniversary, that of the Mutual Radio Network’s Mother’s Day broadcast, was 74 years ago on this day. The broadcast opened with Rosary prayer and was so successful in reaching families, a young priest named Patrick Peyton came to the producer with a plan.

His plan was for prayer over the radio, specifically praying the Rosary and appealing to families. The producer rejected it. However, Father Peyton did not give up. He convinced her with his plea for family unity, and the program they made went on to be so successful, Hollywood stars came to pray over the radio and millions of people around the globe attended his rallies to pray the Rosary together.

Prayer is a powerful way of bringing people together, as we can see over all these years. On this blessed day, Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!
