Today, we are invited to place our hope in the Lord and follow him.
In today’s first reading, Moses offers the people two choices: to follow God’s word or to turn away their hearts and not listen. In the gospel, Jesus invites his disciples to follow him. Those who do not chose God find their burdens harder to carry and life to be less full.
Taking up our cross also means carrying the broken relationships and surrendering our intentions to the Lord. When we carry our crosses in families, we will reach a point where we will experience life and resurrection.
Are we carrying our crosses? Do we follow the Lord with them?
During these days of Lent, let us listen to Jesus who calls us to follow him in times of joy and sorrow. May all our families be blessed. Amen.
