God of Surprises: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

Today’s Gospel reminded me of my own call to the priesthood. Sometimes all it takes is a simple leap of faith.

Today’s gospel reading brings to life the inception of Jesus’ Twelve Disciples. These twelve men would be the representatives of Jesus, his closest companions. Did these twelve men feel comfortable with bearing the responsibilities that were to come or were they anxious about – both literally and figuratively – walking with Jesus?

Jesus gave these seemingly ordinary men a three-fold commission As individuals, and families, how do we respond to the call to be with Him, to proclaim His words, and to heal our own families?

God, may you bless us all and our families.
