Have You Come To Destroy Us? Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

What a 109-year-old woman and Venerable Patrick Peyton have in common.

Celebrating Venerable Patrick Peyton’s birthday makes me think of all the people he impacted during his lifetime. Everything he did was made possible because of the decisive event when he diligently prayed to God in a Novena of Rosaries  that he might be healed of tuberculosis through Mary’s intercession. It changed his life forever.

In today’s Gospel the demon says to Christ, “Have you come to destroy us?” No, he has not come to destroy us. He has come to transform us into his disciples, not part-time or sometime disciples, but full time disciples. That changes our lives forever.

In the end all the relationships that we have, the closest ones of family, friends, and co-workers, will be taken away. There is only one relationship that will not come to an end, because it is eternal, it lasts forever, that is our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, the Living God.

Work with your family to strengthen each of your personal relationships with God. Encourage one another to grow closer to Christ in prayer, particularly the Rosary. May your life be forever changed with this invitation.
