Let us ask a different question, as the leper did.
Isn’t it striking to see the leper’s confidence today? Someone who has to warn others of his presence because they find him so unclean speaks up, and humbly asks Jesus for relief. Even with the world against him, instead of asking “why should I go on living?” the leper asks “what do I need to go on living?” allowing his faith to guide him.
Jesus sees the strength of this man’s faith and chooses to cleanse him. No more will this man experience rejection because of his leprosy. He is free to live because he believed.
Are we calling out to Jesus? Do we seek to be cleansed by the Lord’s touch?
Lord, we pray for our families to be cleansed together, feeling the power of the Lord’s hand in our lives. Amen.
