A large crowd gathers around Jesus – what are they hungry for?
Today’s reading of the Gospel from John details an encounter Jesus had with a crowd of over five thousand – but this is not just an account of Jesus feeding hungry stomachs, it is much more than that.
The Multiplication of the Loaves is an event that should inspire us to live out our lives as Jesus lived his. We should feel the need to imitate Jesus in our lives so that we may be able to receive the gifts of grace, forgiveness, and eternal life.
How do you experience Jesus in your everyday life? Are there times when you have difficulties letting him in? How do you overcome those feelings of resistance?
Brothers and sisters, may we be eternally grateful for Jesus and the work he did in order to bring God’s light, life, and love into our world. Amen.
