Is the Devil Real Today?

Is the Devil Real Today?

Learn more about our faith  |  Why pray?

We are engaged in an extended battle against the forces of evil in the world, in the Church, in our families, and in our hearts.

Whatever addiction, bad habit, sin, you have overcome with God’s help, it still needs to be attended to. Do not think that the struggle is over. If you have removed one sin or addiction from your life, replace it by some good habit: prayers with family instead of pornography, sharing a meal with family instead of drinking with the wrong people, leaning into frequent confession instead of sadness and depression.

Is the Devil real? I would say yes. He comes in imagination, in laziness and boredom, in gossip and lust, in gluttony and over-indulgence, in addiction to virtual relationships rather than real relationships with loved ones.

Remember, the Lord Jesus came to free us and he is stronger than any evil force. He is always ready to assist us. Let us always remain close to Jesus especially with the Holy Rosary and family prayer.
