Jesus is Good Enough: Family Reflection Video

Celebrating family life  |  Holy lives of inspiration

There's a recently-released popular movie that has something in common with Nathanael ...

In the new box office hit, Crazy Rich Asians, the main character is not accepted by her boyfriend’s family because of her economic background and her family situation. Prejudices can plague our lives and our activities, just as they did to Nathanael in today’s reading. He hears a visitor from Nazareth is nearby and says nothing good comes from Nazareth. However, upon meeting Jesus, Nathanael recognizes him as the Son of God!

This passage speaks about our natural tendency to judge based on what we think is the truth. On the other hand, it also offers the possibility of transforming when we embrace the real truth.

Do we allow our judgment and opinions to be clouded by presumptions? What do we assume about people before we even talk to them? How can we change this in ourselves?

Let us pray that our hearts and minds be opened and flourishing, prepared to welcome our brothers and sisters.
