Jesus, the Church, and Marriage: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

Jesus was never married, but he taught us a lot about it.

:

What we hear in today’s reading may sound like it needs to be reordered. Maybe the mystery should go first, the command last, this here, that there … I think we are meant to understand that marriage is built on sacrificial love; one that is modeled after Christ’s servant leadership.

Married friends of mine have shared that at first, the little things cause friction, but over time they worked these out and realized what really matters and how to work as a team. Sometimes, one spouse takes the lead in a responsibility and sometimes, the other spouse does the same with a different responsibility. This balance in strength is what makes marriage a team effort!

How do I model Christ’s self-emptying love with my spouse? Where am I called to be in helping my spouse to grow in faith, hope, and love?

No matter where you are in your relationship, we pray for faith and love to guide your journey.
