Keeping It Real, Faithful, and Free: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Holy lives of inspiration

Following Jesus’s example, St. Francis is a teacher for us, even now.

Jesus sent out many disciples today, as he said to take nothing along the way and do good works as they went. He didn’t want any of them to become distracted from the mission by jealously or competition –just to focus on spreading God’s good.

Saint Francis of Assisi followed this example, giving up all his family riches to become a monk, and then naming his order the “lesser brothers,” so they would always remember to be humble in God’s name. No matter what we are going through or how little we have, knowing Jesus will see us through keeps our hope in God.

What distracts us from Jesus? How do we stay focused?

May we strive to imitate Christ, as Job and St. Francis did, praising him above all else.
