Lent and Love: Family Reflection Video

Seasonal Reflections

What love has to do with Lent and what Lent has to do with love.

Ash Wednesday reminds us of God’s love and invites us to explore it in a more meaningful way. And Valentine’s Day allows us to appreciate and show our love to those closest to our hearts. Love plays an important role in both!

In today’s reading, Moses continues this examination of love and explains that the way to life and prosperity is more than just obeying the 10 Commandments, but also learning how to love them.

Just like when we’re training our bodies to become stronger, we may experience some soreness while strengthening our faith life. We may encounter spiritual soreness especially early in this Lenten season as we pray, fast and give alms. Don’t give up! The sacrifice and growing pains we work through with God’s grace strengthens our bond and love with God and our families.

How can you and your family remind each other to keep the love flowing during your Lenten journey?

May God bless you all this Holy Lenten Season!
