Let the Lord Enter: Family Reflection Video

Let the Lord Enter: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Seasonal Reflections

The Latin word Adventus was a military term and had to do with the powerful invasion of a walled city. The city had to decide whether to surrender or oppose.

Today we use the term Advent for the arrival of the great Lord, King of Kings, who comes not with impressive military might but as a humble, innocent child, vulnerable and human like us. Will you invite the Lord to enter your home this Advent?

Venerable Patrick Peyton believed that families are particularly blessed when they surrender their homes to our Lord. How do they do that? By praying together; welcoming the most powerful friend and the most wonderful source of joy and peace into the home and hearts of all who live there.

How will you and your family let the Lord enter your home this Advent and Christmas? Invite your family to pray with you? The Rosary? Grace? Christmas Eucharist?

May the joy of this holy Advent/Christmas season permeate your entire life!

“The family that prays together stays together”

Venerable Patrick Peyton
