The cycle of life is not “birth, life, death.” There is one more thing…
I have been traveling a lot recently and during this time of year, the airports, bus stops, and train stations are all very busy. In this Christmas season, all roads lead home. Jesus prepared a home for us to be with Him in the Resurrection. The story of life does not end with death, but with our own resurrection.
Knowing Jesus is alive, as Saint John observed in today’s readings, puts the birth of Jesus into perspective. Disconnection from our faith weakens our love, for faith is a collective experience, shared with others! St. John wrote this down for us so that “our joy may be complete.”
What is the lesson St. John is teaching us today for our own families?
May the living Jesus fill you with the fullness of His love and joy during this season.
