Mary, the Queen Mother: Family Reflection Video

Celebrating family life  |  Holy lives of inspiration

“Mary, my Queen, my Mother” –Venerable Patrick Peyton

It was decided in ancient nations that if the king had multiple wives, his mother would be named queen, so as not to create hierarchy among wives. As wife of the former king and mother of a new king, the Queen Mother played a powerful role. If she wanted her son to know about something, he paid attention when she brought it to him. She was an intercessor.

Our Mother Mary intercedes for us, and her son, Jesus, never says no to her. Father Patrick Peyton became gravely ill at a young age, and was advised to pray the Rosary. Mary took his prayer to her Divine Son and Peyton was healed; going on to live a remarkable life. Later, his last words on earth were: “Mary, my Queen, my Mother.”

What do we ask Our Mother to help us with today?

We pray with Our Blessed Mother today, that she may always hear our prayers and answer those in need of her intercession; in Jesus’s name we pray! Amen.
