“Me” Focus to Family Focus: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

In a world that is all about “me,” do we take the time to focus on others instead of ourselves?

I met a family in Tripura, India who have become the bread shared with each other. The family of husband, wife, and three grown children is different because the wife has been in a wheelchair for a number of years. The husband takes care of her and at one point, the wife asked him to divorce her so her could marry someone else and have a normal life. However, he insisted on keeping his commitment to her and their family.

Jesus offers himself to us today as spiritual food to satisfy our hunger for a relationship with Christ. He promises and unbroken friendship with God, in which we share in the resurrection. This commitment is one we can bring to our families when we pray together and focus on other over ourselves.

What do we do to separate ourselves from the “me” focus of culture and bring values to our family? How can we be the bread of life in our own families?
