Our Children Belong to God: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity  |  Celebrating family life

To be thankful for the time we are given, so that we live in God’s plan.

I was at a funeral for my cousin a long time ago, and I remember the priest saying we must be thankful to God for giving her to us for the years that he did. She did not belong to us, she belonged to God. In this way, parents are just guardians on behalf of God to help children grow.

Both of today’s readings are about couples who are childless. God intervened because his plan needed these children to be raised by couples who would teach identity as a child of God, grow in their relationship with God, and find their vocation in life. These are the keys to raising children in guardianship for God.

What is your responsibility as parents toward the children God has given you?

Pray today my friends, that we value our loved ones while we have them. They will later go back to God.
