The Virgin Mary, I dare to say, has an invitation for you now - to journey with her to Bethlehem during this Advent! While she invites you each year, I also dare to say that this year’s invitation is particularly important, yet especially welcoming!
This Advent and Christmas may seem downright strange to us this year!
Yet let that strangeness become an opportunity! Our time will be quieter so can pay more attention and focus more on what Advent and Christmas are really about.
Advent starts this week casting a panoramic view of Salvation History, reaching it’s completion at the Second Coming of Christ.
The readings today hold Him up high for us to see Him, to know Him, and to love Him: divine Son of the Father, God with who reveals Himself to us and holds all authority in His Hands. He comes humble like a little child, yet filled with the Divine Spirit - wise, just, strong, and true.
As we see Him, He reveals us to ourselves! He reveals who we are and what God intends for each of us.
The Child to be born in the stable is and will be the true light shining on the world, the light our world needs now, that can show us the way, and give us the grace to follow it.
Will we pay attention? Will we be ready? Will He find you and your family prepared, and will your hearts receive him? Will you be ready to say 'Yes' to Him as Mary did?
This Advent many families WILL have more time to prepare. To pay attention to how the birth of Jesus means a new beginning for us now!
That’s what Advent is about. Our Lady is so present in Advent time because she wants to accompany and guide us to Bethlehem so that we can say 'Yes' to God with her.
She is the Mother and the Director of our Family Rosary ministry, so we want to journey with you and your family too.
Throughout Advent and Christmas we will be offering lots of helps and support to help you and your family to ponder and pray, celebrate and play! Please keep visiting our familyrosary.org and our catholicmom.com websites regularly and often.
Thanks for being a part of our community! Our Journey to Bethlehem together begins!
