“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor.” (Isaiah 61:1) The Holy Spirit strengthens us to help others. Isaiah reminds us that God’s blessings aren’t just for us—they’re meant to be shared. Bringing good news means showing kindness and hope. As a family, let’s ask: How can we encourage others during this Advent season? How can we bring glad tidings to those we meet. Amen.

“Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths: All flesh shall see the salvation of God.” (Luke 3:4, 6) John the Baptist call to “prepare the way” is a summons to conversion. Advent invites us to clear the clutter—resentment, pride, distractions—that block Christ’s path to our hearts. When we make room for God, our family benefits from the blessings. Today, let us ready our hearts for the Lord’s coming with joy. Amen.

“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.” (Luke 1:30-31) Mary’s “yes” changed history. Her courage reminds us that faith often begins with trust, not certainty. God’s grace calls us to opening our hearts, even when the path seems unclear. Today, let us welcome Christ into our hearts with humility and hope, confident that God’s plan is always good. Amen.

“Jesus said to the crowds: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."” (Matthew 11:28-30)

“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost."” (Matthew 18:12-14)

“"Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you." But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” (Luke 1:26-38)

“Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, ‘Son of David, have pity on us!’ When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I can do this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ they said to him.” (Luke 1:27-28) Yes, Lord, we believe in Your saving power. How easy is it for us to give You the big things in our lives, but not the small. Christ Jesus, teach our family to lean on You for all that we need. Place the words, “Yes, Lord, we believe You can do this,” always on our lips. Amen.
