Are we as prepared as the king?
There was a king who told his dim-witted fool to keep hold of a long staff until he found someone more foolish than himself. When the king lay dying, he lamented over having no plan for what was to come in the afterlife. The fool then hands him back the staff, saying not preparing makes the king more foolish then he is.
We live in a complex and busy world. Very often, we forget to live and let live. Our reading today reminds us to always be prepared; caring for each other, seeking truth, and allowing ourselves to fall into the embrace of our loving savior will get us ready … because the Kingdom will come when we least expect it.
Are we preparing for God’s Kingdom? What distracts us from living in his will?
We pray today, my friends, for preparedness! May we plan for what is next to come.
