Sabbath for the iPhone: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

What do you think Jesus would say about our iPhones?

I believe it’d be something along the lines of, “There is something greater than your iPhones and gadgets here on earth. Spend time building relationships with one another and with me. Embrace interactions with your family and take rest with me.”

In order to grow in relationship with God and one another, we need to show up and be present with the Lord. What matters in the end is how we have touched, sustained, and cared for – not how many likes we got on Facebook, the accomplishments we made, or the money we’ve saved. What quenches our thirst is the love of our families, the faithfulness of our friends and the mercy of our God.

How can your family embrace the Sabbath this weekend? Will you take the challenge and rest one day without your electronic gadgets to spend time with the people around you? You have the power and ability to care for one another, all you have to do is reach out.
