Seeing Anew with the Eyes of Faith and Hope: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

Hey, I know that guy …

Listening to someone we know well changes what we think of the message. As a priest, when I visit a parish, the local priest says the parishioners will listen to me because I’m not from there, I’m a new voice. The people who knew Jesus were doubtful of his teaching because he was the same guy they had seen around town; where did he get all this knowledge and leadership from?

This skepticism makes it difficult for us to see those around us as God sees them. Those who can’t see with the eyes of faith reject what they truly need to hear. God wants to use all of us in spreading His message, but first we need to clear out the doubt and impatience that blocks God’s grace.

What do I do that blocks God’s messages to me? How can I listen to those God is trying to use to reach me? How is he using me to reach others?

May God bless you this day, and open your ears to be listening for whomever brings his Word!
