Solemnity of Saint Joseph: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity  |  Seasonal Reflections

Today we pray and remember a man who was an integral part of the Holy Family even though he shared not DNA with Jesus and Mary but rather faith and love.

March 19th marks the celebration of the life of Saint Joseph. After hearing the news of Mary's pregnancy, Joseph struggled for a short time but since he believed in following God's way, he showed her nothing but compassion, prudence, and virtue when she was bearing Jesus Christ in her womb.

This sort of thinking shown by Saint Joseph is something that we could all benefit from picking up and adopting into our own lives. Too often we are quick to develop conclusions and are not willing to hear out the other side of the story. This often can result in an abundance of unnecessary quarrels which could potentially lead us off the path God has laid down for us.

Are there areas in your own life that could use compassion, prudence, and virtue? What is it that you and your family are facing today that you could use some guidance to navigate through?

Lord, may you guide us all as we try and live out our lives with the grace and humility that Saint Joseph showed throughout his life. Amen.
