“It is not I, but Christ who lives in me”
One of the greatest things about Peter and Paul is they are examples of how to follow Christ, but also had their fair share of human flaws. Peter amazingly walks on the water, but sinks due to his weak faith. Paul’s central conviction is that only God can save humanity, but he his humiliated for his beliefs. However, these human faults and weaknesses did not blind Jesus’s deeper purposes. We must open ourselves to the saving power of Jesus and join Paul in saying “It is not I, but Christ who lives in me.”
How are we flawed, but still doing our best to follow Jesus? Do we inspire others to follow him as well?
Let us try to imitate how Peter and Paul lived, or at least how they were restored through humility and repentance.
