Return to the Church

What was once a great testament to the faith is now suffering in the passage of time.

Father Marcham and I visited St. Anne’s Church in Fall River, Massachusetts this week. The building used to be a large-capacity place for celebration, but is now surrounded by caution due to it crumbling state. When we first got there, no doors were open, until a kind nun came along and showed us into the part of the building that is safe to work in.

Another man came and showed us the expansive interior of the church, lead us around the crypt, and told stories of the wonderful celebrations that had been hosted there … including his own wedding! I wonder if faith is disappearing from our families and neighborhoods. Similar to the gospel today, Jesus says he can do no good work where is his due to lack of faith. Are we lacking in faith these days?

St. Anne, grandmother of the Savior, pray for us!
