St. Frances Xavier Cabrini: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

“Are we doing this … or is the Lord?”

No matter where we are from or where we end up, what matters is doing the will of God with compassion. Today’s saint, Frances Xavier Cabrini was born into a large Italian family. Her faith taught at home coupled with a belief that we are all brothers and sisters united in Christ led her to found schools, clinics, orphanages, and hospitals.

Much of her work brought St. Frances to lands foreign to her. She could understand what it meant to be away from family, such a strong grounding force, and to be that for others. I’m glad to say her wonderful work lives on, as she founded the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in 1880.

When we work in our daily lives, are we the ones ding it, or is it the Lord at work through us?

We pray for our hearts to be inspired by St. Frances Xavier Cabrini today; inspired to give ourselves and our work as openly as she did.
