When have you heard or been told to “stay in the light”?
We naturally gravitate toward the warmth and light of the sun; we move closer to lamplight to better read or do our work. It helps to picture “light” as something illuminated from a lamp or the sun, but there is a “light” more crucial because it illuminates our souls.
Natural lights only take us so far in life; it is possible to be miserable on a beautiful, sunny day, but if we hold the light of Christ in our soul, we will find the faith, hope, and love we need every day.
Are you “staying in the light”?
Lord, keep us near, in your warm and blessed light.
