As he stands before the Pharisees today, Jesus shows his works to be an important, unwavering mission.
Testifying on his own behalf, Jesus is pressured to compromise His mission as the Pharisees try to coerce Him to dilute his principles. But Jesus stood firm as a rock –solid in His commitment in the face of opposition and indifference.
When our families are tempted to be dishonest and lethargic, we need to look to the spirit, enthusiasm and boldness of John who defended Jesus. When we are rocked by doubts, sickness, distress, and tragedies, we need to look to the works of Jesus. When our families experience spiritual dryness, hopelessness, confusions, uncertainties; we look to the Father who strengthens and lifts us up.
How do we stand up against the resentment and hostility of the worldly values that pressure us to dilute our values?
For the strength to grow within us, we pray. Let us continue God’s mission here on earth. Amen.
