The Art of Relationship - Weekday Homily Video

The Art of Relationship - Weekday Homily Video

Father Pinto Paul has mastered the art of relationships. Let me explain with a brief account from the classic child’s tale, The Little Prince. The planet-hopping Little Prince is yearning to find a friend when he meets a fox for the first time. Listen to this excerpt (available in the video below).

Taming is all about the art of relationships.

I tried interviewing Father Pinto several nights ago. I asked, “As you enter this silver jubilee year, would you choose the priesthood again?”  Without hesitation he said, “I would gladly choose to be a Holy Cross priest all over again, absolutely!” I asked, “What has surprised you?” He said, “On the day I professed first vows, my mother kissed me and said, ‘Today, I am giving God my best!’"

Father Pinto also said, “I am from a small village in India, did not even speak English until I entered the seminary at age 15, was formed by Holy Cross and spent ten amazing years in the missions of Northeast India, which I loved; then was given a chance to study and work in America, was invited to come and work at Holy Cross Family Ministries, about which I knew almost nothing. Now I serve as the International Director, and I have never been happier in my life.” We all thank God for that!

One last word about this good man. Whether in relationships or in work, no matter how fraught with challenges and difficulties, Father Pinto never gives up; never, never, never. His faith is rock solid and joyful at the same time. His leadership is treasured around the world for integrity, sincerity, fairness, and kindness. He listens with the heart, challenges with prudence, and creates an environment in which all know they are valued members of the team on fire with love for serving God’s masterpiece, the family.

Father Pinto, we know there will be many other occasions in the coming year to salute you and thank God for you, but now we want to stand and say with robust applause, we love you and we thank God for giving you to us as a leading member of this Holy Cross Family Ministries Team as our priest, brother, and good friend.  Thanks for taming all of us!
