This passage has a lot of messages for us today!
Satan played a trick on Eve, appearing as an appealing friend. Think about the many temptations we face every day; don’t they look attractive? Not only are we told how Satan will tempt us, but we are told when! Temptation is most powerful when we are alone. It suggests: “No one else will know! No harm!”
The problem today wasn’t about the food. It was the unbelief, rebellion, disobedience, and pride. God had provided them with all they needed. He had clearly demonstrated His goodness and love. They had every reason to trust and obey him. But, they failed to recognize God’s design in its totality and yielded to temptation, resulting in guilt, shame, and alienation. Will we do the same, or will we respond to God’s design for our families?
We trust in the Lord’s guidance this day!
